Thanksgiving Part One
Miaoli County was super nice and had Thanksgiving lunch for us at Bob’s house. (Bob is one of the foreign English teachers in Miaoli county.) I have to say it was really good. Below is a video of most of the food we ate.
It really felt like Thanksgiving. I played a round of Settlers of Catan and a few rounds of Pit. Pit is a really fun game by the way. It was nice to be able to socialize and eat familiar food. Some of us went around and said what we’re thankful for. I am truly thankful for the people I’ve met during my time in Taiwan.
Afterwards, some of us walked to a shopping mall nearby. We caught a 5pm showing of The Mockingjay Part 2. And I got my sweet popcorn! YAY! I think this is the second time, I’ve talked about the sweet popcorn at the movie theaters in Taiwan, whoops. That’s okay. They’re really good!

Thanksgiving Part Two
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!! I’m a little sad that I can’t be in the U.S. to celebrate with my friends and family. But, Tracy was super nice and invited me to have Thanksgiving dinner with some of the other teachers in her county. Yay!!!! AND to make it seem even more like Thanksgiving, the weather chose to drop 10 degrees Fahrenheit. I wore a dress and my legs were cold freezing in the 55 degree weather. The chosen place to eat was at the Sheraton Hsinchu Hotel. We ate at their buffet restaurant called feast. The good news? They had turkey and mashed potato.
It was a lot of fun though. There were 10 of us total and it was nice to catch up and talk to people. Everyone is so fun and creative. I’m glad that I could spend this holiday with them.

The food was pretty good. I wish I had 10 stomachs to eat everything. There was an extensive dessert section and a good variety of foods.
After two days of celebrating Thanksgiving, I am tired haha. If only they had Black Friday here in Taiwan. No worries, I will most likely be shopping this weekend. Fingers crossed I find a coat.
Thanksgiving Part Three
So, I was going to go to the Pig and Pepper with Ariel for a Thanksgiving dinner. However, they’re all booked and Ariel decided that she should have dinner with her grandparents. So, I put my name on their waiting list, my way of letting God decide whether I should go or not. On Saturday afternoon, I got a call telling me they had an availability. I told them I would take 6pm slot. I ended up dragging my aunt with me for a $700 turkey dinner. It was really good though. I would even daresay the most delicious out of the three I’ve had this week. I only ate half my plate too. I ate the other the next day for lunch. So, not extremely expensive since I got two meals out of it.
It was SOOOOO GOOOODDDD!!!! |
